Tehillah Jazz

The word ‘Tehillah’ is a Hebrew word found in the Old Testament, meaning a hymn of spontaneous praise, glory in song. Tehillah Jazz is made up of several local musicians, varying by album, to record unique original music, beginning with a Christian Jazz on Tehillah Jazz I, then transitioning more avant-garde, experimental form of Jazz for Walking with Monsters, their second album.

Walking with Monsters

The groups second album was created in 2010, and is strictly instrumental. Each song evokes imagery to the conscious mind. Even the iconic album cover suggest that something dangerous is looming behind the group. The highlight songs from the album include: Big West, which features Jeff Miller on trombone, Walking With Monsters, featuring Matt Held on theremin, Lighthouse Rescue, featuring Doug Held’s guitar, and Matt Held’s moving bass line, Holy Water, and The Fog Rise Quickly, featuring Mark Ermold’s tenor sax. The album is highlighted with Greg Spangler’s creative percussion lines.
